After devoting a decade to building an ecotourism project in Costa Rica, she faced defeat when the financial collapse of 2008 forced her to let go of her dream. Returning home at 65, she thought her best years were behind her. But she discovered something powerful: midlife isn’t a blank slate, it’s a power slate. Every experience, skill, and lesson becomes fuel for what’s next. For Teresa, that realization was the spark that carried her forward into new opportunities.

What began as a single improv class became Teresa’s big bold move. Soon she was performing across the U.S. and internationally, eventually joining Florida Studio Theatre’s main cast in her seventies. Improv, she explains, isn’t just comedy, it’s a life skill. When you loosen up, laugh, and practice the “yes, and…” mindset, you open yourself to unexpected possibilities. Play dissolves fear, fuels creativity, and reminds us that joy is a powerful tool for growth.
